The first few weeks of Term 3 have flown by and all the children have settled back into the routine of Monkeynastix classes. We have had a busy month focusing on Core Muscle Strength using the gymnic ball and the trampoline.

Core Muscle Strength is essential for children’s development

“It’s difficult to balance, perform coordinated movements on both sides of the body, sit up straight in a chair, hold a pencil, control scissors, or jump if you don’t have a strong core. We know that decreased core strength commonly contributes to other issues like W-Sitting and delayed motor skill development.” (*)

We have been practising new sit positions. Use the keyring that you received in Term 2 to practise them with your child. Try out the Cobra and the Superman!
